Editorial research and direction for design-led brands.

Magelier Studio works with brands, companies and cultural organisations on research-led editorial projects. We look for the story already present in a collection, object or place, then build the editorial system around it.

Magelier Studio grows out of the editorial practice behind Magelier.

What We Do

Editorial Research & Narrative Direction

Research into the history, process, references and decisions behind a collection, object, place or brand, used to identify its strongest editorial direction.

Collection & Launch Editorial Systems

A central editorial narrative developed across launch essays, collection texts, interviews, press material and shorter digital formats.

Interviews & Cultural Profiles

Research-led conversations with designers, founders, artists and collaborators, developed from the work rather than a standard questionnaire.

Ongoing Editorial Direction

Longer-term editorial partnerships for journals, recurring formats and brand publications, from subject selection and research to commissioning and final edit.

How We Work

We begin with the material: a collection, archive, object, place or question. Research establishes the editorial direction. From there, the same central idea can move across long-form writing, interviews, press material and shorter formats without being repeated in the same language.
