In 1956, a 21-year-old German named Jürgen Michaelsen joined Christian Dior’s studio in Paris. Dior gave him a new name, Yorn, while they were working on the Libre collection. Six years later, Michaelsen opened his own fashion house on the Champs-Élysées. The newly published A Season at Dior returns to that formative year, when learning someone else’s methods was also the beginning of finding his own.

Ski clothing was once defined by what the mountain demanded: insulation, visibility and freedom of movement. In Louis Vuitton’s LV Ski 2026, those requirements become aesthetic choices. Reflective surfaces, protective silhouettes and technical details travel well beyond the slopes. The mountain remains the reference, even when the clothes are unlikely to encounter snow.

The Savile Row sign behind the Spirit of Ecstasy gives the first clue to Ghost Savile Row. Conceived like a bespoke suit, the one-off Rolls-Royce Ghost Extended pairs Midnight Sapphire with English White, recalling a dark suit and white shirt. Inside, Navy Blue leather is finished with Selby Grey pinstripe-inspired stitching. Developed with Savile Row specialists, the car takes its cues from tailoring details revealed only on close inspection.

Outside, a Chanel jacket. Inside, a fairytale. In Chanel’s Fall Winter 2026 Haute Couture collection, an illustrated silk lining turns the inside of the garment into a world of its own.

In Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, a golden ticket grants entry to a place normally closed to outsiders. The Peninsula Hong Kong has found a rather literal way to recreate that privilege. From November 10 to December 6, guests booking special stay packages can enter the hotel’s usually private Chocolate Room for hands-on chocolate-making sessions. A Willy Wonka-inspired afternoon tea continues through December 10. The fictional factory has found a working counterpart.

Built in 1936 and once used by Royal Mail, The Peninsula London’s Austin 7 has returned to service in a different form. Restored in Peninsula Green, it is now a mobile coffee car and will serve visitors at the Hyde Park starting point of the London to Brighton Veteran Car Run. Guests can watch the departure from the eighth-floor Brooklands Bar. The hotel hosts RM Sotheby’s London auction on October 31, followed by the run on November 1.

The motif on the back of the leather jacket draws from Keith Haring’s visual language, one of Cruise 2027’s key references through a vintage Louis Vuitton suitcase the artist drew on in 1984. Presented at The Frick Collection in New York, the collection sits between the Old Masters atmosphere of the museum and the street language of 1980s New York.
